EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off a standalone demon encounter in episode 8, this episode pivots toward lasting consequences by introducing Shippo, who becomes a permanent member of the traveling group. It's the first half of a two-part confrontation with the Thunder Brothers, directly leading into episode 10's full-scale battle featuring Tetsusaiga. At episode 9 of 167, the series is still assembling its main cast, and this marks a critical step in that foundation-building phase.
