EPISODE CONTEXT
This episode directly continues the crisis introduced in Episode 60, where the dark priestess Tsubaki cursed Kagome, and escalates the threat by bringing Kikyo into the conflict. Sitting roughly a third of the way through the series at Episode 61 of 167, it deepens the show's exploration of spiritual rivalries and sets the stage for the intensified showdown in Episode 62, 'Tsubaki's Unrelenting Evil Spell,' making it a critical middle chapter in this mini-arc.
