EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the intense Sesshomaru-Tetsusaiga conflict, this episode pivots from sibling rivalry to an entirely new axis of tension by introducing Koga, a character who will become a recurring presence and romantic foil throughout the series. Positioned roughly a fifth of the way through InuYasha's 167-episode run, this is a deliberate expansion of the cast and stakes beyond Naraku's shadow. It sets the foundation for the Wolf Demon Tribe's ongoing role and the evolving dynamic between Inuyasha, Kagome, and Koga moving forward.
