EPISODE CONTEXT
Sitting at episode 139 of 167, this is deep into InuYasha's later stretch of standalone and filler arcs that fill the gap before the series' conclusion. It continues the Akitoki Hojo mini-arc from the previous episode, escalating the conflict with Hoshiyomi's forces into a full-scale action centerpiece. The stage is now set for the mini-arc's climactic showdown over the Naginata of Kenkon in the episodes ahead.
