EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Episode 11's intense Noh mask encounter in modern-day Tokyo, Episode 12 downshifts into a contemplative standalone that deepens Kagome's characterization as someone uniquely attuned to both worlds. While not directly advancing the Shikon Jewel plotline, it reinforces the emotional foundation the series is building in its early stretch. It also serves as a tonal bridge to Episode 13, which pivots back to Inuyasha himself by exposing his vulnerabilities during the new moon.
