EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 16 lands deep in the Kanya Festival arc, which has been building since the club began investigating the mysterious pattern of thefts across school clubs. Following the identification of the Juumonji pattern in prior episodes, this installment escalates the investigation to its final day, positioning all the pieces before the revelatory payoff in episode 17, 'The Kudryavka Sequence.' At the three-quarter mark of the series, this arc represents Hyouka's most sustained and ambitious mystery.
