EPISODE CONTEXT
As the tenth and final episode of Season 2, 'Pretend God' serves as the culmination of the church infiltration arc that escalated through 'Storm the Church' and the preceding episodes, bringing Lumachina's storyline and the season's central threat to their resolution. The entire season has steadily raised the stakes around religious corruption and divine-level enemies, and this finale is where all of that tension pays off.
