Himitsu no AiPri: Ring-hen
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Returning to Paradise Private Academy for their second year, Himari Aozora and Mitsuki Hoshikawa find things getting interesting when a mysterious princess shows up and basically says 'I'm going to rank all of you.' Princess Ring Clover, along with her butler Shitsumu, announces an AiPri Contest to crown the world's best idol with the title of 'Eternal AiPri.' The catch is that Ring clearly has her own agenda, and the show isn't in a hurry to tell you what it is. Meanwhile, the AiPri-Verse — a virtual performance world — introduces new idols and a fresh mechanic called 'Buzzlume Change' that shakes up how the stage performances work. New underclassmen join the cast too, so the character dynamics shift in ways that keep things from feeling like a retread of season one. The vibe is colorful idol competition layered with enough mystery to give it some actual narrative pull. If you grew up watching PriPara or Aikatsu and miss that particular brand of sparkly idol chaos with a plot thread running underneath, this is the continuation of that lineage. Fans of Love Live who want something aimed a bit younger but with surprisingly solid world-building might find something here too. The animation from OLM and Dongwoo A&E stays bright and polished, and the character designs pop even harder this season. It's a good entry point if you finished season one and want to see where the mystery around Princess Ring actually leads.
