EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the resolution of the cursed eight-stringed koto arc, the series pivots at its midpoint — episode 11 of 26 — away from external magical threats and toward internal conflict and identity. The introduction of a rival priestess figure signals the start of a more personal, emotionally complex phase of the season. This episode plants seeds around Akane's past and the fragility of her role that the back half of the series will likely develop with increasing urgency.
