When a novice priestess's party is decimated by goblins, the Goblin Slayer, a man obsessed with eradicating the creatures, intervenes, setting the stage for a brutal and unforgiving fantasy.

📖 SYNOPSIS

In nearly every fantasy world you can think of, goblins serve as the tutorial enemies — the trash mobs you grind through before fighting the real threats. Goblin Slayer takes that assumption and tears it apart. In the first episode, a group of rookie adventurers walks into a goblin cave expecting easy work. What they get instead is a brutal, horrifying wake-up call that sets the tone for the entire 12-episode TV series. The only one who takes goblins seriously is the Goblin Slayer himself — a silver-ranked adventurer in battered armor who has dedicated his entire life to one thing: killing goblins. Not demons, not dragons, just goblins. He knows their tactics, their nesting patterns, their cruelty, and he approaches every extermination like a methodical, single-minded machine. After he rescues a young Priestess from her party's failed quest, the two form an unlikely partnership and gradually build a group of companions who join his unglamorous crusade. Studio White Fox doesn't shy away from the gore or the darkness here — this is a world where being an adventurer can get you killed on day one, and the show makes sure you feel that weight. If you're into darker fantasy like Re:Monster or wanted something grittier than Banished from the Hero's Party, this scratches that itch. Just know going in that the first episode hits hard and the tone stays unflinching throughout.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You enjoy grimdark fantasy where the world is genuinely cruel — not softened for comfort
Tactical, preparation-heavy combat appeals more than flashy power-scaling or brute-force fights
Goblin Slayer's trauma-driven backstory and single-minded obsession make for a fascinating character study
You're into D&D-style adventuring parties — ranks, quests, and party dynamics feel tabletop-inspired

❌ SKIP IF...

Episode 1's graphic sexual violence is a hard line — it doesn't get that extreme again but sets the tone
White Fox's CGI on Goblin Slayer's armor can look stiff and inconsistent against 2D characters
You want a fully resolved story — the final arc wraps fast and leaves threads open for Season 2
