Go! Go! Loser Ranger!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
For the past thirteen years, a team of superheroes called the Dragon Keepers has been fighting off the Nefarious Monster Army on live TV every Sunday. Humanity cheers, the monsters lose, and everything resets by Monday. There's just one problem — the whole thing is fake. The real war ended years ago, and now both sides stage weekly battles to keep up appearances. The heroes get fame and funding, the surviving monsters get to keep existing, and nobody asks questions. Enter Sentouin D, a low-ranking foot soldier in the Monster Army who's tired of playing dead every weekend. Instead of going along with the charade, D decides to infiltrate the Dragon Keepers by shapeshifting into a human recruit, hoping to dismantle the system from the inside. What follows is a 12-episode TV series that's equal parts dark comedy and genuine thriller, as D navigates an organization where the "heroes" might be worse than the monsters they pretend to fight. The moral ambiguity here is the real draw — you're rooting for a literal villain trying to take down fake heroes, and the show never lets you forget how messy that is. If you liked One Punch Man's cynical take on heroism or Tiger & Bunny's corporate superhero angle, this hits a similar nerve but goes darker. Yostar Pictures adapts the shounen manga with solid action sequences, and the premise has enough teeth to keep you watching through the end.
