EPISODE CONTEXT
Landing at episode 68 of 100, this marks a critical escalation point in the series' back third. It follows Episode 67's more contained horror encounter with the vampiric Jubokko tree and blows the conflict wide open by assembling every Western yōkai adversary into one confrontation. This large-scale battle directly sets up Episode 69, 'Kitarō's Catastrophe! Anagura-Nyuudou,' suggesting the consequences of this clash carry forward and the threat from Western yōkai is far from resolved.
