Coming off the darker, more suspenseful tone of Episode 5's 'The Cursed Movie,' this installment deliberately pivots to lighthearted comedy and yokai world-building, giving the series room to breathe early in its 100-episode run. As a standalone adventure, it deepens the audience's connection to the yokai ecosystem without advancing a serialized plot. It also sets a tonal runway before Episode 7, 'Burn! Medama-Oyaji,' which shifts focus to Kitarō's father and promises higher-stakes, more action-driven material.
