EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the heavier Great Yōkai Trial storyline in episode 47, where Kitarō's character was put under serious scrutiny, this episode serves as a deliberate tonal palate cleanser. It lands roughly at the midpoint of the 100-episode run and functions as a lighthearted standalone before the series moves into darker mythological territory with the Seven Misaki of the Other World in episode 49.
