EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off the dramatic curse reveal in episode two, this third installment grounds the series in character psychology before the roster of Sohma family members starts expanding. It deepens the Tohru-Yuki-Kyo dynamic that will serve as the emotional spine of the entire 26-episode run. The next episode, 'Here Comes Kagura!', introduces a new Sohma into the mix, so this is effectively the last quiet moment before the world gets bigger.
