EPISODE CONTEXT
Episode 12 deepens the Galuna Island arc that kicked off a few episodes prior, moving past initial mystery-solving into personal stakes territory as Gray's backstory becomes central to the conflict. The previous episode established the island's curse and its suffering inhabitants; this one reframes everything through Gray's connection to Lyon and their shared history. It's a clear setup episode for the arc's major confrontations, positioning the back half of this storyline as one of the first emotionally significant arcs in Fairy Tail's long run.
