Synopsis

After already toppling a 400-year-old dark wizard and the most feared dragon in history, Natsu and the gang need an encore — so they take on the one job nobody's been able to finish in over a century. Fairy Tail: 100 Years Quest picks up about a year after the original series ends, with Natsu, Lucy, Gray, Erza, Wendy, and their Exceed companions heading to the northern continent of Guiltina. The mission: seal away the Five Dragon Gods, each one powerful enough to rival the threats they've already faced. The first couple episodes set the tone — these aren't just strong enemies, they're forces of nature that reshape the world around them, and the team is walking in basically blind. The vibe is classic Fairy Tail — the banter between the crew, the escalating fights, the found-family warmth — but with a fresh setting and stakes that feel earned after everything they've been through. J.C.Staff handles the animation, and the action sequences have a nice weight to them. It's a 25-episode TV series that doesn't waste time getting into it. If you liked One Piece's sense of adventure in new territories, or the way Black Clover keeps raising the power ceiling while keeping its characters grounded, this hits a similar spot. And if you watched the original Fairy Tail and wanted more, this is literally that — just on a bigger map with bigger dragons.

As expected from the writing of this episode, ever since the Edolas arc, the narrative has remained consistently interesting. The witty and hilarious scenes distinctively portray the characters' dynamics and chemistry, almost giving off an exquisite fan service vibe. Additionally, that ending part was truly shocking and jaw dropping, as it leaves me wondering about what is happening?

Following the high stakes intensity of the combat, the transition into peaceful moments offers a refreshing tonal shift. The story's humor remains a highlight, ensuring there's always something to enjoy. Plus, the ending leaves you curious about the next potential plot twist.

I’ll be honest, the beginning felt a bit unnecessary, as it slowed the momentum from the previous cliffhanger and dampened the excitement. But the rest was so engaging that it hooks you again! Plus, the intense aura during the fight scenes is captured with such precise detail.
