Failure Frame: I Became the Strongest and Annihilated Everything With Low-Level Spells
📖 SYNOPSIS
When the goddess Vicius isekai's an entire class of students, Touka Mimori draws the shortest straw — while everyone else gets cool hero-tier powers, he ends up with an E-rank status ailment skill — think paralysis, poison, that sort of thing. The goddess decides he's dead weight and literally throws him into a monster-infested dungeon to die. Except his "useless" abilities? Turns out they work on basically everything, including things way above his pay grade. So now you've got a guy who was written off as trash slowly climbing his way out of hell, and he's not coming back with forgiveness on his mind. He wants the goddess dead.
This is a 12-episode TV series from 2024 by Seven Arcs, adapted from a light novel, and the tone is noticeably darker than your average isekai. It's not really about making friends and building a kingdom — it's about a quiet, calculating guy methodically gaining power with one goal: revenge against a literal god. The power system is genuinely interesting because Touka's skills aren't flashy damage dealers; they're status effects that shouldn't work but do, which makes every fight feel a bit different.
If you liked Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest or The Rising of the Shield Hero — specifically that "betrayed hero gets strong out of spite" energy — this scratches the same itch. It leans harder into the revenge angle than either of those, though, which keeps things tense.
