El Hazard 2: The Magnificent World

Perpetually drunk, surprisingly strong, and somehow a legend in the fantasy world of El-Hazard, Fujisawa has gone and done something very human: he panicked and ran away from his own wedding. His furious bride-to-be Miz is not taking it well, and Makoto and the gang get volunteered to drag him back before things get ugly. That search leads somewhere nobody expected, including another version of Ifurita, the Demon God who already complicated everyone's lives in the first season. Meanwhile, the reliably chaotic Jinnai is off doing his own thing with the Bugrom, and they stumble onto a new Demon God named Kalia — except Kalia isn't a weapon waiting for orders. She has her own plans, which is a problem for pretty much everyone. This second OVA run is only four episodes, so it moves fast. The tone stays in that classic 90s isekai lane — comedic, a little absurd, with genuine stakes underneath the silliness. If you grew up on Tenchi Muyo! or Fushigi Yugi, this scratches the same nostalgic itch, and fans of The Vision of Escaflowne who want something lighter will feel at home. The AIC animation holds up well, and the world of El-Hazard still has that distinct charm that made the first season worth watching. A good continuation that doesn't overstay its welcome.
