Synopsis

Alone in Tokyo with zero memories of who he is or where he came from, high schooler Win Kirifuda has nothing but instinct to go on. What he does know is how to play Duel Masters — and he's really, really good at it. After getting into it with some bullies one evening, Win taps into a power he didn't know he had, and those same bullies accidentally crack open a boundary into a ruined world full of creatures that shouldn't exist. So now it's not just card games anymore. This is the second part of the Duel Masters LOST series, following Gekka no Shinigami, and it leans harder into the supernatural side of things. The amnesia angle gives Win actual stakes beyond just winning matches — there's a genuine mystery underneath the strategy game framework that keeps pulling you forward. J.C.Staff handles the animation, and at only 4 ONA episodes, it doesn't waste your time. The tone sits somewhere between moody mystery and action-packed card battles, which is a weirder combo than it sounds but it works. If you grew up on Yu-Gi-Oh! but wanted something with a darker edge and tighter pacing, this scratches that itch. Fans of Kaijudo or Mon Colle Knights will recognize the creature-world crossover setup, but the amnesia-driven storyline adds a layer those shows didn't really touch. Short commitment, solid payoff.

ok but the despair visuals and dark mana absorption? totally screencap worthy and def making a moody gifset for my blog ✨ so peak.
Hmm, mysterious disappearances and a 'dubious presence' isn't really my cup of tea for a comfort watch 😬 kinda neutral vibes from this one.
The character acting felt kinda stiff, lacking proper weight and fluid timing, though that one monster sequence had some decent impact frames, almost like a young animator was channeling a bit of Yutaka Nakamura's smears; still, way too many static shots and panning stills overall, neutral delivery on the sakuga front. 😐
