EPISODE CONTEXT
Following the high-stakes events of "Quantum Core," where Misaki's dangerous entanglement with classified operations left her in a precarious position, "Alchemy" picks up the consequences and pivots the season toward its ethical and psychological core. Sitting at episode eight of thirteen, the series is firmly in its second half, using this quieter chapter to deepen the stakes before the next escalation. It directly sets the stage for "Tragedy of Cherubim," where the cadets face new separations and mounting personal crises within the Watcher's Nest.
