📖 SYNOPSIS
Dies Irae: Reimei serves as a prequel, offering a glimpse into the lives of the main characters before the large-scale conflict of the main Dies Irae storyline. It focuses on Ren Fujii, a seemingly ordinary student who recently had a falling out with a close friend. As Ren attempts to rebuild his relationships with his childhood friend Kasumi Ayase and his upperclassman Rea Himuro, a series of violent and disturbing murders rocks their city. The victims are all decapitated, a gruesome detail that directly mirrors Ren's own recurring nightmares involving a guillotine. These unsettling events are only the beginning of a larger, terrifying conflict which is brewing beneath the surface of normalcy. The anime introduces the main characters and subtly foreshadows the presence of powerful supernatural forces and the war between the Longinus Dreizehn Orden and other factions, setting the stage for the main story's dramatic events.
