EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming off Ren's adjustment to school life in episodes 2 and 3, episode 4 broadens the cast by introducing Miu as a direct foil, adding competitive tension that will shape character dynamics for the remainder of the season. At one-third of the way through this 12-episode run, the show is clearly done with setup and is now layering in the rivalries and relationships that will drive the back half. This episode plants seeds for future conflicts around the DearS' roles and loyalties within human society.
