EPISODE CONTEXT
Directly following 'The Birth,' where Joe awakens to his cyborg identity and breaks free from Black Ghost's facility, this episode charts the group's first fragile steps toward autonomy and solidarity. It establishes the foundational dynamic among all nine cyborgs that the rest of the season builds on. 'The Escape' feeds directly into the next episode, 'The Assassin of Flash,' where Black Ghost escalates its pursuit and the stakes of their freedom become lethally clear.
