Choujun! Choujou-senpai
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Meet Meguru Choujou — a psychic cop with powers that defy explanation and a work ethic that defies his job description. He's lazy, self-absorbed, and would probably rather nap than solve a case. His new partner, rookie officer Nao Ippongi, is a judo expert who actually cares about doing police work. Together they patrol the streets of Chinjuku, a city that's basically what you'd get if you cranked the weirdness dial on a metropolis all the way up. Supernatural incidents, bizarre criminals, and absurd situations are just Tuesday for these two. The comedy here leans hard into gag humor — less "witty banter" and more "this situation is so stupid it wraps back around to being funny." The dynamic between the overpowered slacker senpai and the earnest rookie carries the whole thing. If you liked the energy of Mob Psycho 100 where psychic powers exist but the real joke is the people who have them, this hits a similar nerve. There's also a bit of that Arakawa Under the Bridge feeling where the setting is packed with weirdos and the straight man just has to deal with it. Arvo Animation is handling production, and the manga source material already has a following on MANGA Plus. It's a shounen comedy that knows exactly what it wants to be — dumb fun with psychic cops in a city that never makes sense.
