By the Grace of the Gods

Synopsis
After 39 years trapped in a miserable salaryman life, Ryouma Takebayashi worked himself to death — literally. He gets a do-over from three sympathetic gods who reincarnate him as an 8-year-old kid in a fantasy world. What does he do with this second chance at life? He moves into a cave in the forest and starts collecting slimes. Not fighting demon lords, not building a harem, not grinding levels — just quietly researching slimes and figuring out all the surprisingly useful things they can do. For three years, that's his whole deal, and he's genuinely happy about it. Things shift when he stumbles into helping a duke's traveling party, and they're like, "Hey, maybe you should come see the world." So he does. That's the setup for this 12-episode TV series from Maho Film, and honestly, that's kind of the whole vibe too. This is an isekai where the stakes are low and the warmth is high. If you liked the cozy side of That Time I Got Reincarnated as a Slime but wished it stayed in chill mode longer, this is your show. It scratches a similar itch to Mushoku Tensei's world-building but trades the drama for something gentler. The magic system is practical rather than flashy, the characters are kind, and nobody's trying to conquer anything. It's comfort food anime — the kind of thing you put on after a rough day when you just need something that feels like a warm blanket.
