EPISODE CONTEXT
Coming directly off Episode 25 ('Memory'), which surfaced key revelations and emotionally primed the central cast for their final confrontations, 'Nothingness' is the payoff the entire 26-episode run has been building toward. It resolves the show's layered central conflict while closing out the character arcs of Keita, Hinoki, and Betterman himself. As the series finale, there is nothing beyond it — this is where Betterman's questions about humanity and evolution are either answered or deliberately left open.
