Battle Through The Heavens Season 5
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Once the pride of his clan, Xiao Yan was a martial arts prodigy — emphasis on 'was.' After mysteriously losing his powers, he went from being the pride of his clan to the kid everyone looks down on. Season 5 of Battle Through the Heavens picks up with him deep into his time at Canaan Academy, where he's building alliances, establishing the Pan Clan, and navigating the kind of cutthroat power struggles you'd expect in a world where your Dou Qi rank basically determines whether people respect you or spit on you. This ONA runs a hefty 209 episodes, so there's a lot of room for the story to breathe — training arcs, faction rivalries, and some genuinely well-choreographed fight sequences that make good use of the show's diverse martial arts styles. The power system here has real depth to it, with Dou Qi cultivation tying directly into how characters grow and how battles play out, which keeps things from feeling repetitive even across a long run. The soundtrack leans into traditional Chinese instrumentation mixed with modern orchestration, and it works surprisingly well for setting the mood. If you're into Wu Dong Qian Kun or Tales of Demons and Gods, this is firmly in that lane — Chinese cultivation fantasy with a revenge-driven protagonist clawing his way back to the top. Fans of Soul Land will also find familiar ground here with the academy setting and competitive dynamics. Just know you're committing to a long ride.
