Arknights
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Across the vast continent of Terra, a mineral called Originium powers civilization but also causes a fatal disease that turns people into outcasts. Rhodes Island, a pharmaceutical company slash paramilitary organization, is trying to cure this disease while navigating political chaos. The story kicks off when Amiya, the young but determined leader of Rhodes Island, rescues the Doctor — their amnesiac head strategist — from cold sleep in the crumbling city of Chernobog. Problem is, a militant group called Reunion is tearing the city apart, and getting out alive is step one. This is a PV series promoting the Arknights mobile game, animated by Yostar Pictures, so think of it as a taste of the world rather than a full narrative. But what a taste it is. The character designs lean hard into kemonomimi aesthetics — animal ears, tails, the works — paired with a surprisingly grim dystopian setting. The soundtrack pulls from all over the place with some genuinely interesting musical collaborations. If you've watched Azur Lane or Girls' Frontline and wanted something with a bit more weight to its world-building, this is worth checking out. There's also a Fate/Grand Order: Babylonia energy here — the way it takes game lore and tries to make it feel cinematic. It's brief and it's promotional material at its core, but the lore runs deep, the action is solid, and the tone stays serious without being exhausting. Good entry point if you're curious about the franchise.
