In a school for mercenaries, the volatile Aria forces a classmate with a unique combat ability to become her partner, attracting the attention of other skilled women.

📖 SYNOPSIS

All he wants is to coast through school studying logistics and minding his own business, but Kinji Tōyama picked the wrong place to lay low. Problem is, he's enrolled at Tokyo Butei High — a school that trains armed detectives — and he's hiding a deeply inconvenient secret: when he gets flustered around women, he enters 'Hysteria Mode,' turning him into an almost supernaturally skilled fighter. He'd rather nobody ever found out about that. Then Aria H. Kanzaki literally drops into his life — a tiny, twin-tailed S-Rank Butei who dual-wields pistols and swords and has zero concept of personal space. After she saves him from the mysterious 'Butei Killer,' she decides Kinji is her new partner, whether he likes it or not. The dynamic between them carries this 12-episode TV series: Aria is aggressive and demanding, Kinji is reluctant and sarcastic, and the tension between them fuels both the comedy and the surprisingly fun action sequences. J.C.Staff handles the animation, and the mix of gunplay and swordwork keeps the fights from feeling repetitive. The tone is comedic and youthful with a solid romantic throughline — it never takes itself too seriously, which works in its favor. If you enjoyed the school-and-combat energy of Sword Oratoria or the power-system-meets-ecchi setup of Hybrid × Heart Magias Academy Ataraxia, this hits a similar sweet spot. It's light, it's dumb in the right ways, and Aria herself is honestly a fun character to watch go off.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You enjoy tsundere heroines paired with reluctant heroes — Aria and Kinji's dynamic is the core draw
Historical figure descendants like Holmes and Lupin descendants sound like a fun premise for action
J.C.Staff's solid action animation in a 12-episode run keeps things moving without huge commitment
You're into harem-school setups with gunfights, comedy, and ecchi moments mixed together

❌ SKIP IF...

You're tired of every standard harem archetype — childhood friend, tsundere, quiet girl — all present here
Fanservice interrupting action scenes and plot development is a dealbreaker for you
You want consistent pacing — some episodes rush through arcs while others feel like filler
