EPISODE CONTEXT
As the first of three episodes in this OVA series, 'The Blue Skies of Betrayal' carries the full burden of world-building — there is nothing before it, and everything depends on it landing. It establishes Area 88's brutal mercenary ecosystem, introduces the core cast, and plants the central question of how Shin ended up here and whether he can ever leave. The two episodes that follow will push these characters and that question to their limits.
