Anne of Green Gables

At 11 years old, Anne Shirley is an orphan with red braids, a temper, and an imagination so big she names ponds and trees like old friends. When she arrives at Green Gables on Prince Edward Island, the elderly Cuthbert siblings are confused — they asked for a boy to help on the farm, not a girl who won't stop talking. The series follows Anne from age 11 to 17 across 50 episodes, and it takes its time. No shortcuts. No melodrama for the sake of it — just life, small and real and occasionally heartbreaking. The animation is gentle and unhurried, which fits perfectly because this is a show about noticing things: a pretty road, a kind word, a moment that almost passed you by.
