📖 SYNOPSIS
Adapted from the manga, this animated special features Sharaku and Wato as they investigate a mysterious, aged ship. Their investigation quickly transforms into a sea voyage, taking them to a series of peculiar islands. The anime, produced by Toei Animation Co., Ltd. with Tezuka Osamu providing the original story and synopsis, shifts the focus from thematic depth to entertainment. This change in direction led to the withdrawal of Tezuka Productions Co., Ltd. from the project. The story is based on the original manga's "Easter Island: Sea voyage" arc.
