Synopsis
In the world of Amoi, hair color is everything — a literal hierarchy written into your biology. Blondes run everything under an AI overlord called Jupiter. Dark-haired people — called mongrels — are stuck in the slums scraping by. Riki is one of them: a sharp, rebellious gang leader from the gutters of Ceres who has no patience for the system and even less for authority. Then Iason Mink shows up — a high-ranking Blondie, essentially untouchable royalty — and instead of ignoring Riki the way his class is supposed to, he takes him in as a "pet." Which is exactly as loaded a term as it sounds. It's a status symbol among the elite, and Iason choosing a mongrel breaks every unwritten rule his society runs on. What unfolds between them is complicated, uncomfortable, and genuinely hard to look away from — a push-pull between power and something neither of them knows how to name. The 1992 OVA is short at two episodes, but it's dense with atmosphere and doesn't shy away from difficult dynamics. If you liked the cold, stratified world-building of No. 6 or the philosophical weight of Ghost in the Shell, this hits a similar nerve — just with a much more personal, intimate focus. It's a Boys Love sci-fi that's more interested in what power does to people than in giving you easy answers or a comfortable ending.
