Ah! My Goddess: Flights of Fancy
Oshimeter
Synopsis
When a goddess named Belldandy literally steps out of his mirror and offers him one wish, college student Keiichi Morisato — a guy with notoriously bad luck — gets his life completely upended. He accidentally wishes for her to stay with him forever, and she does — moving into his place along with her two sisters: Urd, who's mischievous and loves meddling in everyone's love life, and Skuld, a younger goddess obsessed with building gadgets and deeply suspicious of Keiichi. That's your setup, and it's warm, funny, and weirdly wholesome. This TV series is the second season following the 2005 run, picking up a year into their unconventional domestic life together. The romance between Keiichi and Belldandy moves slowly — deliberately so — which might frustrate you or might be exactly the gentle pace you're looking for depending on your mood. What keeps it engaging is the Norse mythology woven into the everyday slice-of-life stuff, giving each goddess actual powers tied to past, present, and future rather than just generic magic. The comedy lands more often than not, and the whole thing has a soft, hand-drawn aesthetic that feels genuinely cozy. If you enjoyed Love Hina or Please Teacher! but wanted something with less edge and more sincerity, this fits that space well. It's not trying to be intense — it's a quiet romantic comedy with supernatural scaffolding, and it commits to that tone across all 22 episodes.
