Against the Gods 2nd Season
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Hunted by every faction desperate to seize the Sky Poison Pearl he carries, Yun Che leaps from a cliff rather than let them have it. That should be the end of the story, except he wakes up in a completely different body — same name, different world, way weaker. This ONA picks up in its second season with Yun Che continuing to claw his way up through a cultivation world where being weak means being stepped on, and he's starting near the bottom. The appeal here is watching someone who already has knowledge and cunning from a past life figure out how to game a new system of martial arts and mystical power. The cultivation mechanics are layered enough to stay interesting, pulling from xianxia mythology without drowning you in jargon. Yun Che isn't a passive protagonist either — he's scheming, he holds grudges, and he doesn't wait around for power to come to him. If you've been watching Tales of Demons and Gods or Battle Through the Heavens, this hits a similar groove: weak-to-strong progression, rival factions, ancient secrets slowly unraveling. It also shares DNA with Martial Universe in how it balances personal stakes against a bigger mythological backdrop. The tone is action-packed and fairly relentless — Foch Film keeps the pacing tight. Worth picking up if you're already deep in the Chinese fantasy cultivation rabbit hole and want another solid entry.
