EPISODE CONTEXT
This is the series' opening move — nothing precedes it, and its entire function is to establish the ground rules. It introduces Garrod and Tiffa, the central pairing the season will be built around, and plants the seeds of the larger mysteries and conflicts that will unfold across all 39 episodes. What follows in the early arc is a deepening of these character dynamics and a gradual expansion of the world's political and human stakes.
