EPISODE CONTEXT
Following 'Bloodstains,' which kept the focus on external threats facing the A.D. Police, this episode pulls back to examine Kenji on a personal level — a necessary detour into character before the series ratchets tension back up. At episode 8 of 12, the season is in its final stretch, and 'Memory' functions as a breath before the storm. What it establishes about Kenji's background feeds directly into 'Conviction,' where the team — and Hans's unsettling recovery — demand his full attention once again.
