Meanwhile, Breda back at HQ reports a 'solid lead' on the enemy, crediting Havoc's staggering lack of perception.

Roy Mustang, attempting to project authority in a narrow alley, confronts Maria Ross. His posturing ends abruptly as Ross delivers a brutal kick directly to his face, sending him flying. He lands ignominiously in a 'Combustible Trash' bin, a pathetic heap bleeding from the nose. Edward Elric observes the scene, utterly baffled by his superior's sudden humiliation, as Mustang whimpers for help.

In their office, Breda and Mustang review a newspaper about Maria Ross's arrest, a grave matter. Instead of strategy, Breda fixates on her appearance, critiquing her short hair and muscular build.
