This ONA from Painting Dream is based on a game and pulls in Journey to the West references, giving the whole thing a mythical undertone even as it's mostly about adults scrambling to pay rent. The episodes run about seven minutes each across ten episodes, so the pacing stays tight and the jokes land quick. It's refreshing to watch characters dealing with grown-up problems like livelihood and community instead of the usual school drama. If you liked the slice-of-life comedy energy of Mei Chuxi de Yinyang Shi Yijia or the cultural humor in Xiyou Ji de Gushi, this hits a similar vibe. It's a chill, funny watch about ordinary people doing extraordinary things to protect what's theirs — just with more sword-wielding shopkeepers than you'd expect.
