Uta no☆Prince-sama♪ Movie: Taboo Night Kisses
Oshimeter
Synopsis
QUARTET NIGHT — Reiji, Ranmaru, Ai, and Camus — the senior idol group of the Uta no Prince-sama universe, finally get the spotlight they deserve in this movie. If you've been following the franchise, you already know these four have always been the cool, slightly mysterious upperclassmen orbiting the main story. Now they're front and center, navigating the pressure of a new concert tour while trying to push their sound in a direction that actually means something to them. The film is a movie, so you're getting A-1 Pictures putting real muscle into the concert sequences — fluid choreography, dramatic lighting, the whole production. The original tracks, especially 'TABOO NIGHT XXXX,' hit that polished idol-pop sweet spot the series is known for. But what makes it work beyond the performances is the group dynamic. These four have wildly different personalities and backgrounds, and watching them clash and compromise over creative direction gives the story actual stakes beneath all the sparkle. If you liked IDOLiSH7 for its character-driven drama or enjoyed the group tensions in Ensemble Stars, this sits in a similar lane — pretty boys making music, but with enough emotional friction to keep things grounded. B-Project fans will also feel right at home with the tone. It's aimed at the josei demographic, so expect a bit more maturity in how relationships and ambitions are handled. A solid entry point if you're curious about the franchise's older cast.
