Urotsukidoji II: Legend of the Demon Womb (movie)
Oshimeter
Synopsis
A Nazi attempt to tear open the barrier between the human world, the demon realm, and the man-beast dimension failed. But in 1991 Tokyo, a scientist named Dr. Munhihausen Jr. is picking up where his predecessors left off — and this time he's got a more personal angle. His target is Takeaki, the younger brother of Tatsuo Nagumo, a man whose blood carries the power of the Overfiend, a godlike being prophesied to unite the three worlds. After an accident leaves Takeaki near death, Nagumo donates blood to save him — which accidentally floods his brother with power nobody should be carrying. Things spiral from there in ways Tokyo is not equipped to handle. Standing somewhere in the middle of all this chaos is Amano Jyaku, a man-beast whose job is basically to make sure the Overfiend situation doesn't become a catastrophe, and his sister Megumi. It's a losing battle so far. The tone is relentlessly dark — this is horror-fantasy that leans hard into body horror and interdimensional dread, not action-adventure with demons sprinkled in. If you've seen Wicked City or Demon City Shinjuku and wanted something with deeper mythological scaffolding underneath the carnage, this is in that territory. It's also one of the foundational texts of the tentacle horror subgenre, so fair warning going in. Not easy viewing, but genuinely influential in ways that still echo through darker corners of anime today.
