It's less idol show and more genuine sports drama — the kind where you feel the weight of each race and actually care about what's on the line. The animation during race sequences captures that visceral, edge-of-your-seat energy really well. If you liked Uma Musume: Pretty Derby but wanted something grittier and more focused on competition, this is that version. And if shows like Haikyuu or Kuroko's Basketball hooked you with their "underdog fights their way up" structure, Oguri's story hits a lot of those same notes. The anthropomorphic horse girl concept is weird on paper, but the drama is real enough that it stops mattering pretty quickly.
