Synopsis

Oguri Cap is a horse girl from the tiny town of Kasamatsu who eats like a competitive eater and runs like a freight train. She moved to Tokyo chasing the dream of becoming the best racer in Japan, and Part 2 of Cinderella Gray picks up right where she's starting to make serious noise on the big stage. The problem is, she's not the only prodigy out there. Tamamo Cross is right there matching her stride for stride, and now international competitors are showing up for the Japan Cup, turning what was already a brutal rivalry into something way bigger. This 10-episode TV series from CygamesPictures adapts the seinen manga, and the tone leans heavier than you might expect from the Uma Musume franchise. It's less idol show and more genuine sports drama — the kind where you feel the weight of each race and actually care about what's on the line. The animation during race sequences captures that visceral, edge-of-your-seat energy really well. If you liked Uma Musume: Pretty Derby but wanted something grittier and more focused on competition, this is that version. And if shows like Haikyuu or Kuroko's Basketball hooked you with their "underdog fights their way up" structure, Oguri's story hits a lot of those same notes. The anthropomorphic horse girl concept is weird on paper, but the drama is real enough that it stops mattering pretty quickly.

Goo go- I mean, EPIC RACE! Didn’t expect to get hyped over a new character, they really blew my expectations away thinking it was gonna be a boring side race. The director and animator went all out with the second half, expecting more hype races in the future. Yaeno side story although sad, weirdly encouraging and motivating for me.

A bit disappointing that we’ve spent time on another character instead of the main one for the first half, not bad but didn’t leave a lasting impression. The second half didn’t really do much as well, hype for the races, not seeing much action tho.

The episode has an outstanding animation which may make some forget that this is a sports anime. This episode showcases the end of one of the main arcs but also reminds us besides overcoming our limits, sports is about having fun competing with each other.
