Driven by his love for a friend, a young boy named Bam enters a mysterious tower, seeking to climb its treacherous heights and fulfill his deepest desire.

📖 SYNOPSIS

A boy named Twenty-Fifth Bam has spent his entire life in isolation, trapped in a dark cave with no knowledge of the world above. The only thing that ever mattered to him was Rachel, a girl who came from the light and became his whole universe. When she enters a mysterious tower that promises to grant any wish to those who climb it, Bam forces his way in after her — not because he wants power or glory, but just to see her again. That's it. That's his motivation, and it hits harder than you'd expect.

The tower itself is the real star here. Each floor has its own rules, tests, and politics, and the people climbing it range from cunning manipulators to straight-up monsters. Bam gets thrown into teams with characters who all have their own agendas, and figuring out who to trust becomes just as important as the actual combat. The power system is built around these tests and strategic encounters rather than just raw strength, which keeps things tense.

If you liked Hunter x Hunter's exam arcs or the layered world-building of Made in Abyss, this scratches a similar itch. There's also some Magi energy in how the setting blends fantasy politics with action. The 13-episode TV series based on the web manga covers just the first arc, so treat it as a strong introduction to a much larger story. The mystery of the tower and what Rachel is really after will keep you thinking well after the last episode.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You love fantasy worlds with bizarre, diverse character designs—like a giant crocodile teammate named Rak
Kevin Penkin's soundtrack matters to you—his score here rivals his Made in Abyss work
You're into tournament-style tests and survival games across 13 tightly packed episodes
You want a protagonist who's naive and emotionally driven—Bam climbs the Tower purely for one person

❌ SKIP IF...

You need thorough world-building upfront—the Tower's rules stay vague and unexplained for most episodes
A rough first episode is a dealbreaker—episode one drops you in with little context or hook
You'd rather read the webtoon—Telecom Animation Film simplified key characters like Princess Yuri
