📖 SYNOPSIS

In a mythical China where gods and tyrants clash, a young man named Ji Fa struggles with supernatural powers he can't control — and every time they spiral out, the people closest to him pay the price. The tyrannical King Zhou sees him as a threat, which means Ji Fa's very existence puts his family and friends in danger. Early on, you watch him lose control and go berserk trying to protect the people he loves, and it's clear this isn't heading anywhere gentle. His master, his mother, his closest companions — the story doesn't pull punches about the cost of power you never asked for.

This ONA is adapted from a manga and brought to life with a distinctive CG animation style that actually works well for the mythical Chinese setting. The fights hit hard, but what makes it stick is the emotional weight underneath — Ji Fa isn't just powering up for the sake of it, he's being forged through genuine loss. The soundtrack leans into the drama without overdoing it, and the power system around his abilities has enough depth to keep things interesting.

If you've been into shows like Fengyun Bian or Ni Tian Zhan Ji, this fits right in that lane — historical Chinese fantasy with real stakes and a protagonist who earns his growth through suffering rather than training montages. Fans of Millenniums Of Warring States will also find familiar ground here. It's dark, it's personal, and it doesn't let Ji Fa off easy.

✨ MUST WATCH IF...

You're into Chinese donghua that blend supernatural powers with Shang Dynasty-era mythology
Ji Fa's berserk power struggles and loss-driven hero arc sound like your kind of story
CG martial arts action from studios like CG Year and Hei Chao Yinghua appeals to you
You want a fantasy retelling of the classic King Zhou tyranny saga with magic layered in

❌ SKIP IF...

CG animation style turns you off—this isn't traditional 2D hand-drawn work at all
You prefer deep character development over action-heavy supernatural conflict sequences
Historical Chinese settings and folklore-based narratives just don't grab your interest
