The Shy Hero and the Assassin Princesses
Oshimeter
Synopsis
Despite his genuine power and imposing build, Toto is so painfully shy around people—especially women—that he's never managed to form a party. He's been stuck in his hometown while every other adventurer is out there leveling up. Then one day, three beautiful women show up wanting to join him, and he's so grateful he could cry. Small problem: all three of them are assassins sent to kill him. Ciel, Anemone, and Goa each have their own mission to take Toto out, but they keep getting in each other's way, and Toto keeps accidentally surviving through sheer obliviousness and good intentions. He's out here trying to protect his new friends while they're literally scheming behind his back, and the contrast between his earnest devotion and their increasingly frustrated murder attempts is where most of the comedy lives. The dynamic has this weird charm to it—think of it as a harem setup where every love interest is also actively trying to end you. If you enjoyed the dysfunctional party energy of Konosuba or the absurd premise-driven comedy of Cautious Hero, this hits a similar frequency but with its own twist. It's a 12-episode TV series from Studio Connect airing in 2025, adapted from the manga. The tone stays light and comedic even when the action kicks in, and the gap between Toto's intimidating appearance and his personality never stops being funny.
