In Tokyo, the eldest son of the Shiunji family discovers he's not biologically related to his five sisters, leading to a shift in their relationships.

📖 SYNOPSIS

As the sole brother in a wealthy family of seven siblings, Arata Shiunji is constantly reminded by his sisters that he's hopeless with romance. Pretty standard older-brother-gets-roasted energy, until their father drops a bombshell at the youngest sister's birthday party: none of them are actually related by blood. Every single one of the seven was adopted. They all agree nothing has to change — they're still family, right? Yeah, that lasts about five minutes before the sisters start looking at Arata a little differently.

This is a 12-episode TV series from Doga Kobo, the studio that consistently nails expressive character animation, and it shows. The girls each have distinct personalities and their own reasons for gravitating toward Arata, so the dynamic doesn't just feel like a generic lineup. The comedy hits well, and there's a genuine thread about what family actually means when biology is off the table. It stays lighthearted without completely dodging the emotional weight of its premise.

If you liked The Quintessential Quintuplets for the multi-girl romantic tension with actual character development, this scratches a similar itch. Fans of Rent-A-Girlfriend's messy relationship dynamics will find familiar ground here too, though the tone is warmer and less anxiety-inducing. The adopted-siblings angle gives it a flavor closer to Oreimo's taboo-adjacent territory, but played more for comedy than controversy. Worth your time if harem romance with a strong hook is your thing.

❌ SKIP IF...

Romantic tension between siblings — even non-biological — is a hard pass for you
You're tired of standard harem setups — this doesn't break the mold at all
You want balanced screen time for the full cast — some sisters get sidelined heavily
