The iDOLM@STER Cinderella Girls: Spin-off!
Oshimeter
Synopsis
As one of Japan's biggest idol franchises, Cinderella Girls has run for years, and for its 8th anniversary, they put together this short ONA that's basically a love letter to the fans. If you're already deep in the iDOLM@STER universe, this is a nice little celebration piece — it features the Cinderella Girls cast in a special promotional film animated by Studio Orange, who are known for their CG work on stuff like Land of the Lustrous and Beastars. That's actually the interesting hook here: seeing these idol characters rendered in Orange's distinct 3DCG style gives the whole thing a different visual flavor compared to the mainline A-1 Pictures series. It's a single episode, so the time commitment is basically zero. The music-focused presentation leans into what the franchise does best — performances and character charm — without needing to set up any plot. Think of it as a standalone music video with some production polish behind it. If you liked Love Live's concert sequences or enjoyed the energy of the original iDOLM@STER anime, this scratches a similar itch in a compact package. Fair warning though: this isn't really a starting point for newcomers. It assumes you already care about these characters. If you've never touched Cinderella Girls before, start with the 2015 TV series instead. But if you're already a producer at heart, it's a pleasant watch.
