Eight hundred years ago, terrifying demons threatened mankind's existence. On the brink of extinction, humans prayed to their gods, calling out for someone to save them. Possessing unnatural strength and endurance, the Idaten managed to defeat the demons and an era of unprecedented peace was finally ushered in. The problem is that there’s no more after this; the episode ends on a huge cliffhanger for every plot point it has been building up until now, and since the anime came out in 2021, you’ll need to continue with the manga (just do it)

The demons are really strange, with some showing almost no redeeming qualities, while others seem more human than the Idaten themselves.
