"The Eccentric Family" unfolds in a fantastical Kyoto where humans, raccoon dogs, and tengu coexist. The story centers on Yasaburou, a carefree raccoon dog and the third son of the Shimogamo family. His life is colored by the shadow of his father, Souichirou, the former leader of the raccoon dog community, whose death remains shrouded in mystery. Yasaburou navigates the complexities of his unusual family, including his eccentric brothers and a wise old tengu. He also contends with rival raccoon dog clans and forms relationships with humans, including a psychic girl.
